Volunteers are the Key to TortoiseLand’s Success!

We are always in need of volunteers of all ages and walks of life. You don’t need to know anything about reptiles, but you will definitely learn all about them, and you’ll come to love them as much as we do. Watch this video and see for yourself!

Our volunteers rocked the house at the huge Leimert Park Jazz Festival and at the popular Larchmont Village Block Party!

Amilcar is a champ! He’s here working hard every day:

Curtis, Oliver, Ryan, Gonzalo, and all of our other volunteers are amazing!

It takes a village!

TortoiseLand, founded by Kevin Proulx aka “The Tortoise Guy”, is a grassroots, volunteer-led non-profit organization. Feeding, housing, and providing world class medical care for our animals is a huge responsibility and we are blessed to have dedicated, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic volunteers.

With dozens of Chelonians (turtles and tortoises) of different sizes, shapes, and over 14 species currently in our care, TortoiseLand is a busy place!

Maintaining the world class care that our critters receive is critical to our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming these amazing animals, while educating the public about their vital importance in our world and the threats of extinction they face.
